Helmets, Jockeys and Horses

It’s that time of year again, where animals and men come together and join forces on the track. Yes, you guessed right, I’m talking about the New Years Horse Racing event, held on the 1st of January 2014 at the Castleton Race Track, Burrell Boom Village.

Horses, Jockeys, and audiences; all are eager to know what the outcome of the race will be.Prancing out proudly, along with their riders; they enter the track,Legs yearning to have a feel of the dusty road to victory, neck stretched out, ears up and aware of their spectators.

What may the emotions of the horses and jockeys  be? The bell rings “DING, DING” and there off!!!!, dust flying about, legs pounding the ground, matching the beat of the rider’s heart.

Haven’t have Hikatee, Dukunu or Gibnut for a while??how about Craboo or Cashew wine??? All can be found at the food stalls located right in the compound. Take a seat at the spectator stand, with your wine and food in hand.

Culture, food, drinks, animals, sports all found in one place. Here in our Beautiful and entertaining country of Belize. Remember, Castleton Race Track, Burrell Boom village, January 1st, 2014.
